In A Lonely Place Blu-ray Review – Excellent 1950 Humphrey Bogart Thriller

I keep a close look at what new Blu-ray releases come out both here in the UK and also the US. One that instantly stood out was the Humphrey Bogart film In A Lonely Place released by The Criterion Collection. Here’s my In A Lonely Place Blu-ray review.

To be honest I’d never seen it before but as it stars Bogart and is from the film noir genre it sounded intriguing, I just had to take a look.

So now to another cult classic recently released on Blu-ray by Second Sight in the UK. It’s one I’ve never seen before reviewing it here. Here is my The Ninth Configuration Blu-ray review. Army psychiatrist Colonel Kane (Stacy Keach) arrives at a castle that is acting as a US military asylum. He finds the patients running wild and decides to allow them to carry out their fantasies in an attempt to help them.

Island of Terror Blu-ray Review – 1966 Sci-fi, Horror

It’s time for another Peter Cushing sci-fi / horror film to review and maybe it’s one you are not that familiar with. Here is my Island of Terror Blu-ray review. When the inhabitants of Petries’s island discover the remains of a man it seems like there may be a strange new disease spreading across the island.

The body of the man has no bones remaining. However the Island is also the home of a research lab tasked with finding the cure for cancer. Are the two connected? I think you know the answer to that.

I Am Wrath Blu-ray Review – 2016 Excellent Travolta Action Movie!

I love a good action film, but find most of the newer ones miss the mark. What about this one? Here’s my I Am Wrath Blu-ray Review.

I remember seeing the film trailer for I Am Wraith and thinking it’s probably a Death Wish style film. Now to be fair it kind of is but with a slight twist.

So by now you will realise that it is indeed a fast paced action film, starring John Travolta.

The African Queen Blu-ray Review – 1951 Classic!

Another classic film on Blu-ray, but has it been restored properly? I’m going to find out in my The African Queen Blu-ray review.

I will start by stating that this is indeed a classic film, no doubt about in my mind. Bogart won the Best Actor Academy Award for his portrayal of Charlie Allnut in this film. However I am not swayed by awards in fact most of my favourite films and actors have seldom been recognised by the Academy awards. This is one of the rare occasions I believe they got it right.
