These are the new releases on both 4K UHD and Blu-ray for the first week of June 2024 in the UK. Here are the highlights:
New Releases 3rd June 2024
Imaginary (2024) – Lionsgate releases this recent horror film on Blu-ray, there’s currently no 4K option listed. The film stars DeWanda Wise and Tom Holland.

Lisa Frankenstein (2024) – Mediumrare offers both a 4K UHD + Blu-ray combo and a standard Blu-ray edition of this comedy-horror film. Directed by Zelda Williams, the film stars Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse in a modern take on the classic Frankenstein story.
Classic Films / Anniversary Editions
Army of Shadows (1969) – Studiocanal releases this Jean-Pierre Melville drama on Blu-ray. The film stars Lino Ventura and Simone Signoret, and tells the story of the French Resistance fighters during World War II.
Glory (1989) – To mark its 35th anniversary, Sony releases a Steelbook 4K UHD edition of this Edward Zwick war drama. The film stars Matthew Broderick, Denzel Washington, and Morgan Freeman, which follows the story of an African American regiment during the American Civil War.
The Italian Job (1969) – Paramount celebrates the 55th anniversary of this outstanding and iconic British heist film with a Collector’s Edition 4K UHD release. The film of course stars the great Michael Caine.

Action & Crime
Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) – Warner Bros has just released a special Steelbook 4K Ultra HD edition the George Miller directed action movie. The films star Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron in the lead roles.
Ronin (1998) – Altitude Film brings this crime action classic to 4K Ultra HD. Directed by John Frankenheimer, the movie stars Robert De Niro and Jean Reno in a rather thrilling and action packed story with so excellent car chases!
Other Releases
Man of Violence / The Big Switch – 88 Films offers a Blu-ray double feature of these British crime thrillers directed by Pete Walker.
The New Boy (2023) – Drama released by Signature Blu-ray. The film, set in 1940s Australia, stars Cate Blanchett.
The Small Back Room (1949) – A romantic thriller from directors Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger arrives on Blu-ray, released by Studiocanal. The film stars David Farrar and Kathleen Byron.
Vampire Circus (1972) – Strawberry Media has just released the cult horror film on Blu-ray. Directed by Robert Young, it features a travelling circus.
