Warner Bros will release The Shining Film Vault 4K UHD Special Edition in September 2025 for the UK.
This is a limited edition release comes with both 4K UHD and Blu-ray discs and is packed full of physical extras such as ‘Limited Edition Packaging’, ‘Double Sided Poster’ and ‘Art Cards.
There is also a The Shining Steelbook 4K Ultra HD Edition out on the same day.

The Shining (1980) is a psychological horror film from director Stanley Kubrick and stars Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall. One its most famous lines being “Here’s Johnny!” but there’s also “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”
Plot
Jack Torrance takes his family to the isolated Overlook Hotel in Colorado where he takes up the role of winter caretaker. However Jack discovers the hotel has dark secrets that begin to influence and change him in ways that will scare and terrorises his family.
Budget / Reception
The film is said to have had a budget of around $19 million and it went on to take an estimated $48 million at the box office.
I don’t think we need Rotten Tomatoes to tell us if this is a well regarded movie, I mean its a classic!
However if you’re curious, Rotten Tomatoes has the film at a Tomatometer score of 83% (Critics) & Popcornmeter 93% (Audience) as of the time of writing.

As with the upcoming Poltergeist release, if you do intend on adding this release to you film collection I strongly recommend pre-ordering as soon as possible to avoid missing out. These ‘Film Vault’ releases usually sell out before their official release dates.
