From the Cinema to Your Home: Recent UK Film Releases on Blu-ray

If you’re a movie lover like myself, you may be looking for some of the latest films to watch at home on good old physical media! A number of films that recently appeared in UK cinemas are now making their way to home entertainment, with a variety of exciting titles available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD.

Whether you’re a fan of action, horror, drama or animated adventures, there’s almost certainly something new worth considering adding to your film collection.

Films Recently Released on Disc

A variety of new films are now available for home viewing. Big releases included A Minecraft Movie which came to cinemas in April and can be purchased on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD. Musical drama, A Complete Unknown, starring Timothée Chalamet, is also available on the same disc formats following its January 2025 cinema release.

If horror you’re genre of choice then take a look at Nosferatu, who’s cast includes Bill SkarsgÃ¥rd and Nicholas Hoult. Looking for something different? Check out the chilling movie, The Brutalist, a drama featuring Adrien Brody and Felicity Jones, available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD. Both movies came to UK cinemas in January 2025.

Superhero and fantasy fans have a lot to look forward to. Captain America: Brave New World, starring Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford and the musical fantasy Snow White are now available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD. These films had their theatrical run in February and March 2025, respectively. Meanwhile Thunderbolts starring Florence Pugh and Sebastian Stan is also available to buy on the same three formats.

Lilo & Stitch, the adventure film that arrived in UK cinemas in May is now available to buy on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD.

The animated adventure Dog Man, a recent February 2025 cinema release, is also now on Blu-ray and DVD.

A wide array of other genres are now available on disc. The sci-fi dark comedy Mickey 17, featuring Robert Pattinson, the action thriller Novocaine and the action comedy Marching Powder and The Amateur are all out on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD.

For crime drama fans, The Alto Knights, starring Robert De Niro, is also now available. Meanwhile thriller, Black Bag, which stars Michael Fassbender, Cate Blanchett and Pierce Brosnan is now available, both are available now on physical media disc formats, 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD.

Romantic comedy fans will be delighted to find Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, starring Renée Zellweger and Colin Firth, now on Blu-ray and DVD as are the romantic comedy Jane Austen Wrecked My Life and musical romance drama Juliet & Romeo, starring Rebel Wilson and Rupert Everett.

The Phoenician Scheme is a comedy-drama that features Tom Hanks, the movie arrived in cinemas in May and is available to own now on all three disc formats.

Horror remains a popular genre for home releases. You can now get your hands on, The Ritual (Al Pacino) and Clown in a Cornfield on Blu-ray and DVD.

Other horror films include The Monkey (Stephen King), Final Destination Bloodlines, Sinners (Michael B. Jordan / Hailee Steinfeld), horror-thriller The Woman in the Yard, the fantasy horror Death Of A Unicorn, and the Until Dawn all of which can be picked up 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD.

Action drama movie, Karate Kid: Legends, starring Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio hit cinemas in May and can now be purchased on 4K Ultra, Blu-ray and DVD, there’s also Steelbook (4K UHD + Blu-ray) available.

The action-thriller Ballerina (From the World of John Wick) starring Ana de Armas and Keanu Reeves is available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD plus steelbook options.

Meanwhile the Drop starring Meghann Fahy and Brandon Sklenaris is also out on Blu-ray.

Other recent releases now on disc include the dramas, The Salt Path (Gillian Anderson & Jason Isaacs), Last Breath (Woody Harrelson), and the crime drama Mr Burton (Toby Jones) are all now available on Blu-ray and DVD.

Latest UK 4K Ultra HD Releases

Films Coming Soon to Disc

The Blu-ray releases just keep coming, with several more highly anticipated titles scheduled for release later in 2025.

The action-packed Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, starring Tom Cruise, will be available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on 13th October 2025.

There’s a couple of family movies coming with Disney Pixar’s animated adventure, Elio and adventure film, How to Train Your Dragon which came to the big screen in June arriving on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on the 22nd and 29th September 2025 respectively.

Horror fans can look forward to 28 Years Later from director Danny Boyle on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on the 22nd September 2025. That is followed a week later by sci-fi horror, M3GAN 2.0 (2025) which also arrives on all three physical media formats.

Pete Davidson’s horror thriller, The Home is due to release on Blu-ray and DVD on the 29th September 2025.

October is traditionally horror month and this year sees the release of, I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025) which has Jennifer Love Hewitt reprising her role from the previous movies arrive on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on 27th October 2025.

Sci-fi drama, The End (2024) starring Tilda Swinton which came to UK cinemas back in March 2025 arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on the 10th November 2025.

Finally Comedy Drama, Eddington (2025) starring Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal which released in UK cinemas in August arrives on Blu-ray / DVD on 24th November 2025.
