Old Gold Media has just announced a September 2025 release for The Sweeney Series Two Blu-ray (50th Anniversary Edition) in the UK.
This is one cult classic television cop show that really does deserve to be restored and released on to Blu-ray. It looks like Old Gold Media are making good on their promise to release all of the series in 2025!
This “Newly Restored Edition” comes on 4 discs that full of special features. You can see the full list of goodies below.

For those of you not familiar with The Sweeney, it a police television drama starring John Thaw, Dennis Waterman and Garfield Morgan which follows members of the Flying Squad who specialise in tackling armed robbery and violent crime.
The Sweeney had many quotable lines such as “Get yer trousers on, you’re nicked!” or “We’re the Sweeney son, and we haven’t had any dinner…”.
Remember that The Sweeney Series One releases on 2nd June 2025!
