The BFI has listed the British folk horror film, Starve Acre (2023) for a October release in the UK. The film written and directed by Daniel Kokotajlo, stars Matt Smith (Doctor Who) and Morfydd Clark (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power).

Plot
The film is set in the 1970’s Yorkshire and sees Richard and Juliette relocate to Richard’s childhood home in the countryside. However following a tragic event academic archaeologist Richard becomes obsessive in exploring a local folkloric myth.
