The BBC are set to release a newly restored version of the Doctor Who: The Movie, starring Paul McGann on both 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray in May 2026 for the UK.
Doctor Who The Movie (1996) begins with Sylvester McCoy’s Seventh Doctor who then regenerates into Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor.
The film also stars Daphne Ashbrook as Grace Holloway and Eric Roberts as The Master.
Table of Contents
I think its fair to say that the movie didn’t really work, but Paul McGann did make an excellent Doctor. In fact he really should and maybe still should of had his own TV series.
Alas I think that ship has long since sailed and the series as a whole is dead.
I’ve added the new 4K trailer lower down the page.
