What Do You Think?

I’ll admit I don’t go the cinema that often these days. Why you may ask? I think cinema is in a really bad place at the moment. I love movies but there aren’t enough great or good films being produced any more.

That means I’m more than happy to watch older films that are restored and released on either 4K UHD or Blu-ray. I truly believe the art of great filmmaking is in the process of being lost.

Take this film The Amateur (2025) for example, it looks a decent enough watch but people have lost the habit of attending the cinema regularly.

It’s expensive to go and there’s generally no much worth watching. This means even the half decent movies are struggling to make money.

In any case those are my thoughts. More importantly did you see this movie at the cinema? If so what did you think of it? Will you be adding it to your physical movie collection this month?

I would really love to hear your thoughts, you can discuss it on my Facebook page.
