Disney will be releasing their animated family adventure film, Inside Out 2 (2024) on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD at the end of September in the UK.
The voice cast includes:
- Amy Poehler as Joy
- Maya Hawke as Anxiety
- Liza Lapira as Disgust
- Tony Hale as Fear
- Lewis Black as Anger
- Phyllis Smith as Sadness
- Ayo Edebiri as Envy
- Adèle Exarchopoulos as Ennui
- Paul Walter Hauser as Embarrassment
The animated film released back in June in cinemas and took an estimated $1.675 billion against a budget of around $200 million, not too bad I’d say!
With those kind of figures I’m guessing Disney are expecting to shift a fair few physical units, whether that’s on DVD, Blu-ray or 4K Ultra HD.
Movies aimed at kids tend to sell better on DVD in most markets and I can back this up with evidence from Amazon UK. They say they have sold pre-orders in the last month of over 700 DVD’s, 300 Blu-rays and 200 4K UHD’s.
These are pretty decent numbers for a kids blockbuster film that will not be in short supply come its 30th September 2024 release date.

Personally I’d recommend purchasing the Blu-ray version for around £14.99, it will look and sound way better than the DVD without breaking the bank on the 4K version which will cost at least £10 more.
There’s also a 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray Steelbook version available for those you who are collector’s.
So we know that Inside Out 2 was a huge success at the box office around the world, but has was it received by the audience? Well Rotten Tomatoes has the film at a 91% ‘Tomatometer’ (Critics) and 95% ‘Popcornmeter’ (Audience) score at the time of writing.
